On December 6, 2018, Southwest Airlines Flight 278 from KOAK to KBUR overran the runway in heavy rain. The flight was stopped by the EMAS, which had been installed following the similar Southwest Airlines Flight 1455 incident in 2000, resulting in no injuries, no fatalities, or any significant damage to the aircraft. This pic is that aircraft taken 3 days after the incident. It wasn’t long until she flew out of KBUR under her own power. She continues to fly today.
