Insights

Aviation History

The Beechcraft Bonanza, especially the V-tail variants like the V35B, is an iconic general aviation aircraft beloved for its distinctive design and performance since its debut in the late 1940s.

Fleet Rarity

Still quite common; thousands produced, but the V-tail model is rarer than the later straight-tail variants.

Record Flights

Numerous cross-country and transcontinental flights; Bonanzas have been used in circumnavigation attempts.

Safety & Events

The V-tail design led to increased scrutiny in the 1980s due to some in-flight structural failures, resulting in the nickname \'Doctor Killer,\' though later investigations linked most to pilot error in challenging weather or IMC.

Future Outlook

Likely to remain in private and club use for years; now a classic and collectible GA aircraft.
