In 1998, a distant cousin was leaving the Navy as a Rear Admiral. Before he left, he invited some family members aboard an active aircraft carrier. This Greyhound is what we flew aboard the carrier in. Sitting backwards in the aircraft, we caught the wire aboard the USS Constellation CV64. Toured the ship, met the crew, witnessed landings, takeoffs and stayed aboard for 24hrs. Next day, using the same greyhound we launched off the deck. Hour or so later we landed back at NAS North Island. Literally an unforgettable experience.
